Actress Aditi Rao Hydari is all set to appear in the upcoming OTT series ‘Jubilee’, where she will play the character of Sumitra Kumari. The actress is excited about her role as she portrays a powerful woman who commands respect in a male-dominated world.
Sumitra Kumari is the wife of a movie star with excellent business skills, who is searching for love, the one thing she truly desires. According to Aditi, the character intrigued her because of her public persona.
Although Sumitra may not have taken the correct path, she fought for what she believed in till the end. Aditi admires Sumitra’s creative, utopian rebellion of living an artist’s life.
The actress further mentioned that in this golden era of Indian cinema, Sumitra is a powerful character with agency and passion in a man’s world. Aditi has fallen in love with the character and is excited to showcase her acting skills in the series.
‘Jubilee’ is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and created by Soumik Sen, along with Motwane. The 10-episode series features an ensemble cast, including Aparshakti Khurana, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sidhant Gupta, and Nandish Sandhu, alongside Aditi Rao Hydari.
The series has been produced by Andolan Films in association with Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Studios. ‘Jubilee’ is set to stream on Prime Video from April 7.
